Snack Bags

I have been wanting to make snack bags for my kids this whole school year.  Yet, here the school year is coming to an end and I still haven't sat down and done it.  I found this link this morning that shows detailed directions of how to make easy snack bags for your family.  No more ziploc bags to throw away, and well they are oh so cute!

Besides the snack bags the tutorial demonstrates the Silhouette machine making an applique.  Now I'm really excited to make some snack bags, or tea towels, or t-shirts.  I've used my Silhouette for cutting all sorts of paper, but now that I've seen it cut fabric...well, craft time just became that much more fun.  I'll let you know how it goes.

Note: The tutorial discusses the difficulty of finding polyurethane coated nylon and the expense of shipping.  I bought an old jacket at a local thrift store that had the right material and was a good price.  If I ever get these made I will post my own pics.

This sounds like WAY too much work for me, the 'zip-loc queen', but I'll bet they'll be great! S: )

Loved the kids pictures you posted!
They're so photogenic (but when you're that cute, how can you not be photogenic?!)

Thank you Susan! As far as the snack bags they would definitely be for picnics or special occasions. I use way too many zip-locs in this house to sew that many bags.
