Atlanta Zoo Day

This past weekend we took the kids to the Atlanta Zoo.
There is a great petting zoo where they give the kids brushes to brush the animals. This was Zoe's favorite stop, but it was hard letting her down because she kept wanting to crawl after the animals...
Ever Joy is learning about biomes and the difference between herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. So the zoo was a great learning tool. While we were watching the gorillas we got the chance to watch a zoo trainer show us how they give the gorillas medicine and check their vitals. With simple commands the male gorilla would put his hands, shoulders, ears, etc. up to the bars. It was amazing to watch him up close.
On the way out we let the kids run around at the playground. I think it was their favorite part, which makes me wonder why we drove all the way to Atlanta...
