Autumn Activities

October is one of my favorite months here in North Carolina. Our family has been enjoying getting outside for walks and campfires. The kids have been making leaf piles to jump in, or put at the bottom of their slide. We have also loved being able to be outside without worry of mosquitoes. They were terrible at our house this year!

A couple of nights ago we sat around the campfire and made kettle corn. Pav found a popcorn maker at a thrift store that we can use over the fire. Kettle corn was easy to make, sweet, and not as messy as smores...

Recipe: 1/4 cup of popcorn
1/8 cup of oil
1/8 cup of sugar

This fed the five of us. But you can double it if you really like popcorn. Also, try using brown sugar.

Enjoy the fall, winter is coming...

Kate - Those pics of Ever and Zoe are great, especially the "big sister teaching little sister the ways of life while walking down a dusty road" pic. Kinda makes me hope we have another girl....

Don't tell Laura.

This makes me miss actual season changes! I am jealous that the girls can wear sweaters. It's 86 degrees here today! :) Miss y'all!
