It's finished! The chickens have moved in. Well, only during the day. Now we are cool hipsters with chickens. Oh, wait we don't live in the city, or ride a bike to work, or wear cool clothes. Never mind. We are just regular rural southerners with chickens and a gravel driveway. I feel really cool though. Does that count?
I'm also very happy that we only spent $12 on this oh so
attractive functional chicken tractor. Pav still needs to build the "girls" a ladder ramp to get to their roosting area. Which we will be able to access from this back door.
He will probably change out the wheels for larger ones, when we come across some free ones. So there it is. Home Sweet Home for the Chickens.

I love it! I had to show Andy, and he had some thoughts (below :) But, is this so you can move it to different parts of the grass? I'm slightly jealous, as raising chickens have been on my "bucket list" for awhile.
From Roy - "The lines on your chicken tractor are modern-sleek, and if I were a chicken wearing skinny jeans and TOMS, I'd be pumped to make that my abode."
Thanks guys! The plan is to be able to rotate the coop around our property. While they are little we have it close to our house, but soon we will move it to a clearing we have. That should help with the smell/poop situation. I'm surprised, but chickens make a great pet, that even my little ones can take care of. If you need a modern-sleek tractor, I know a guy.
Do you mind if I pin this? I need to add it to my board called "For the Husband to Build." :-)
AIMA, I would be flattered to have a picture "pinned". Thanks for asking!
I was searching interesting chicken coops for inspiration for building mine, and I really love yours! Do you have any pics of the interior layout, cause that's stretching my imagination a bit, lol. Thanks!
Brenda, I'm sorry we don't have any pics of the inside. I would take some but we sold this tractor to some friends a few months ago. It was really simple inside! Just a couple shelves where we put straw for the eggs. We were just recycling material so there was no design just making use of what he had. Good luck! :)
